Therabody Review
Okay! Let’s review the therabody smart goggles for meditation. They run for about $199 (atleast when I purchased them). They state their purpose is to aid in better sleep, reduce anxiety, ease facial tension, soothe headaches, and increase circulation. Now, I love meditating so I was curious how well it would help with that. The cool thing about the goggles is that there’s an app that you can connect to it that has meditations and stories/sounds you can listen to while meditating. You basically place the goggles on, which looks like a tech-y sleeping mask, and either chose your own heat and vibration modes or go on the app and chose from the Sleep, SmartRelax or Focus routines. After you complete the session it will let you know what your heart rate started at and where it ended (goal is to end lower than you started)
PROS
- nice continuous heat feels soothing
- My under eyes always look bomb after the treatment, I swear I’m also getting lymphatic massage!
- Can change vibration and heat levels
CONS
- Size does not fit all and placement is confusing. not sure where I’m suppose to be feeling the massaging (over my eye balls or over my brows)
- Because the goggles are very tight (atleast on my head) it’s takes me a bit to relax.
- Not sure how accurate the pulse reading is. It’s shown some pretty crazy numbers before!
- Only three modes
Overall, not something I would purchase again. I would like something softer and less bulky which maybe had some visuals but that’s just me. I’ll definitely use it to relax but I don’t have any facial muscle issues so haven’t noticed any improvement in that. I will however remember to use it when I have a headache to see if it aids in that.
